Project Management is the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from beginning to end, using modern management techniques to achieve predetermined objectives of scope, cost, time, quality and participation satisfaction. The Project Manager’s aim is to meet a client's requirements in order to produce a functionally and financially viable project.
Our project principles are based on three key elements.
One single element alone can’t result in a project being deemed a success. All three elements must be successfully completed to the client’s satisfaction. At no stage can the quality of a project be compromised for the saving of time or cost. Likewise, the cost of the project cannot be disregarded to ensure that the project is finished on time and to the quality that is required.
Time Projects believes that there is no reason for a project to run over budget (subject to a realistic budget being set initially and the scope of the contract not changing). Over the last three years, we have completed approx. 15 projects with not one of them running over budget; in fact they were all substantially under budget.
Time Projects prides itself in completing contracts on time. The statement that is heard in the market place that a job cannot be completed on time in Botswana is unacceptable. If the consultants and contractor run the contract correctly, there is no reason not to complete the project within the contract period.
It is unacceptable to state that it is impossible to construct a quality building in Botswana, as there is a lack of expertise in the labour to do so. Quality is all about the correct selection of the correct contractor and subcontractors, supervision and ensuring that work is done right the first time around. It appears that there is a perception that a vast amount of money needs to be spent on finishes to achieve a quality building. There are many alternative products and methods that can be used to achieve a quality product that will not compromise the budget of the project but will achieve the desired result. A prime example of this is the South African High Commission. It’s a quality building with excellent finishes but this did not have a negative impact on the budget.
Time Projects believes that with the proper management of all three of these principles a quality building, which is completed on time within the budget, is a matter of course.
Over the years, Time Projects has invested heavily in acquiring the correct tools to allow its Project Managers, Consultants and Contractors to carry out the project as effortlessly as possible.
